Barnabas (Johnny Depp), putra Joshua Collins yang tumbuh menjadi playboy kaya dan berkuasa di Collinsport, Maine. Semuanya berjalan lancar sampai akhirnya Barnabas bertemu Angelique Bouchard (Eva Green). Angelique adalah seorang penyihir sakti. Saat Barnabas membuat Angelique patah hati, penyihir ini sakit hati dan akhirnya mengutuk Barnabas menjadi vampir dan menguburnya hidup-hidup.
